« An eighteen meters ant with a hat on his head, it does’nt exist, it does’nt exist… An ant trailing a tank full of ducks and penguins, it does’nt exist, it does’nt exist… A French speaking ant speaking Latin and Javanese, it does’nt exist, it does’nt exist… and why not finally? » Robert Desnos
Why 3019 ? Because « one way or another 2018 will be a pivotal year » is a collective slogan and a baseline. So let’s get more and work better than last year to make 3019 a pretty good year for each and everyone, any condition, origin or belonging (social, cultural, racial, etc.), man, woman, LGBTQ, parents, childrens, with family or without, rich, poor, beautiful, ugly, any skin color or color skin, same for eyes color, thighs, penis or bra size, hairy or bald ; speaking any languages or only one or not speaking at all, French speaking speaking Chinese and Javanese… as example. Find a place at least for everyone to sit and ask to the others and himself right questions and that 3019 is a pretty year for all. Questions about the nature, things, elements and no more issues that relate to him immediately. Questions about plant, animal, mineral, planets, the planet, ours. Thinking about « the life » first of all, as long as it’s « alive » to be the great beneficiary…
This is my hope for 2018:
That people of all genders and sexualities (and races, though that’s not in the drawing) will accept and love each other as equals.
I hope for a world where myself and others like me can be comfortable and have full rights.
Okay, yes. 2017 sucked. But 2018 is an opportunity to do something incredible
One way or another, this will be a pivotal year for racial justice, immigration, voting rights, healthcare, education, and LGBTQ+ equality. So this year we all need to step up and commit to whatever political and social good we can handle.
That’s the idea behind the first ever Art Action Day this Saturday, January 20.
What is Art Action Day?
Art Action Day is an opportunity to speak out and make a commitment to action in 2018. With our friends at The Federation, we’re asking you to post about your vision for 2018, and—more importantly—how you’re committing to making that future a reality.
On Saturday we’ll signal boost your posts on and off Tumblr to inspire others.
How you can participate:
You can draw, make a gif, write a song or a poem—anything you want! The prompt is simple:
What do you want the headlines and history books to say about 2018? And what will you do to make it happen?
Maybe it’s helping to pass the DREAM Act or electing a gender-balanced Congress. Maybe it’s ending the stigma around mental illness. If we all commit to doing one thing this year, 2018 will be a very good year.
